About the brazilian keratin system

by James
(NY City)

Its know already that Marcia, Coppola, and QOB Escova progressive have more formaldehyde in their products than what the FDA approves also the companies that don't have formaldehyde use EITHER witch makes people sleep and even can make people have a coma type of experience. Now who has the best product um not Pantene not L’Oreal or head and shoulders who have damaged peoples hair in the market for decades that's why in hair salons people don’t use this products. Also what about L’Oreal with the 5.0 % formaldehyde in their acrylic products also used in salons this hair coloring product that have ammonia that also not only makes woman bold when used for along time it also produces cancer but wait they are legal right.

For your information the keratin is a protein that gives the hair more health and the formaldehyde is used to seal that protein in your hair so you can fix the damages that the hair coloring products made and the relaxers made and the bleaching that gets done to have blond hair.

Now there is a product that’s new in the market called “kera hair” this is at a low .2 percent and you can call the USDA and find out that they have the legal amount allowed of formaldehyde by the FDA. This product now is the only product that heals your hair and repairs the damage that everything in this country including the water in your houses do to people’s hair.

For some reference go to this website www.fda.gov/WOMENS/getthefacts/hairdye.html and check out what the other products in the market do to peoples hair and health.

Hair Damage?
by: Anonymous

I would like to have this treatment done in a salon, but want to research first. I have very fine, highlighted hair, that frizzes only in humidity. Do I have to worry about any damaging effects from the treatment? Considering the iron is such an extreme temperature, will it damage my hair? When treatment wears off, will my hair be any more damaged than it already is?

Once you do the treatment you wont need to iron your hair for a long time.

But you must have the treatment done properly and you must maintain with our shampoo it keeps the treatment longer and also takes care of your hair.

WHAT I USE
by: HAIR PRO LS100

I have to say that I have used 3-4 Brazilian Keratin Treatment formulas. Some were better than others. All I know is that you need to be very careful about companies that go overboard with their claims of "formaldehyde free" etc.

The best companies give an honest answer about that stuff. I finally ended up using QOD GOLD. I do hair abroad twice a year, and I heard about it from other international stylists. It is definitely the most popular treatment in the super high end salons in Dubai, Europe, etc.

I used to order it from Brazil, but now you can get it in the US from their real site, they opened their own site (there were bad versions in the US). Be sure to use their official site www.qodusa.com or www.keratinpower.com. Sometimes they have discounts for new buyers, so look for codes or ask them.

THE KERA STYLE ERA HAS BEGUN !!!!
by: jean carlo nagutii

The innovation of perfection has begun. I have now the best product on the market KERA STYLE. Hi, my name is Jc Nagutii. I worked with Kera hair in the past that has changed. I started working with the Kera Style keratin treatment and the results are fabulous. This product last longer, gives 3 times more shine and nurtures the hair 4 times as much as all the other products. I cant say much more about this product. I believe in it! They have a shampoo & conditioner line that it's to good to use with the treatment. In fact in Miami and other parts of south Florida, this product is taking all the other brands to school as the saying goes. I'm hair stylist and I work with this product. Its the greatest thing Ive seen ever. Also made in the USA just like i like. Let me tell you products come and go this brand came to conquer.

The TEST OF FIRE (Part I)
by: Raphael

I sure appreciate the free publicity. As an authorized distributor of Kera Hair, I owe it to all of you to disclose that I am an official distributor of Kera Hair in NYC boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn.

I also have to state very clearly that there are a few clarifications that need to be made here on the very positive comments made about the product I deal in.

Firstly, the cosmetic grade formalin (methylene glycol) content for Kera Hair is actually...

Keratin treatment is not regulated by the FDA or OSHA. Please make sure you get the correct information before you post it on the website.

Thanks

get it straight
by: Anonymous

First of all, I can understand certain concerns about this product, but if you are going to bash it, you should get your facts straight first. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that I would not rely on a source that can't even SPELL what they are talking about let alone know anything about it. If you don't know what you are talking abot at least sound like you do

"Healing the hair? C'mon!
by: Anonymous

Oh my gosh..."healing the hair" with a synthetic resinous fiber, keratin, and formaldehyde?

What silly thing will I hear next...hair color makes you live longer?

I have educated for 27 years in the pro beauty industry and I am blown away by the power or marketing and the ignorance of so many licensed professionals.

The good news is there is such a thing as a 100% vegan all natural product that PERMANENTLY straightens the hair and it's made in southern California. It's called Reform by Zerran Int Corp.
Try it and then spread the healthy truth!

Research, Get the Correct Facts, Then Post
by: Hair Angel

It's nice that James is Concerned, yet I am not sure of his level of education ( as you can see by the grammar or lack of used in his opening sentence). Nonetheless, after being in the industry for over 25 years and continuously researching products etc... Yes , many of the Keratin products have excessive amounts of Formaldehyde. They do need one of the chemicals to bond the hair with the heat i.e.: Aldehyde etc... Obviously, you art trying to push a line or did not do your homework.

Coppola was the Only Keratin product ( when investigated in 2008) that had a lower than 1% in the product. This was not Formaldehyde. Do Your Homework and at least get a grade school education . That too will help YOUR BUSINESS! ZERRAN is Nice but it is not a Keratin Smoother, it is a Straightener.

I like the keratin treatments but !
by: SAMMY

I have tried allot looked at websites and at the end all these brands are just trying to make a buck LOL. The hair business is changing and the reality is that at the end the client is always right. If they want a keratin treatment i give it to them. What I'm not happy with is all of those brands selling at EBAY it's unprofessional and let's face it, this is hurting the market as already the economy is.
Also the FDA does not regulate the amount of formaldehyde used in a treatment so I like a safe product but I want it to work OK.
I have my insights on the product making, so don't even say ORGANIC cause it wont work. You always need chemicals for it to help change damage hair.
Last but not least all this companies selling crap out there that's fine. I will always advice to buy products that are exclusive.

Response to James in NYC
by: Derek Collins

James,
Interesting article about the Brazilian Keratin System. I find it strange that so many people continue to use products containing formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde or any other aldehyde and was unaware of treatments that use Ether. These products can be very dangerous. Even the "Kera Hair" which you state has 2% formaldehyde is not safe. Here is the TRUTH about formaldehyde exposure. http://www.meridianeng.com/formalde.html

The OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit is an average of 0.75ppm (parts per million NOT PERCENTAGE) for an eight hour work day. The Short Term Exposure Limit is 2ppm (15 minute average). The OSHA "action level" is 0.5ppm. If employees are exposed to formaldehyde concentrations above the "action level," additional sampling and a medical surveillance program are required.

The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) has established a Threshold Limit Value of 0.3ppm as a "ceiling limit," not to be exceeded at any time, and has classified it as a "Suspected Human Carcinogen."
To see how percentage calculates to parts per million visit: http://www.super-grow.biz/PcentConvert.jsp - 2% is equal to 20,000ppm
