Back to Blonde From Reddish Brown Colour

I have recently gone to a reddish brown colour from blonde. I really hate this and want to go back to blonde but not sure of the best way to do it? If i put blonde on my hair will it go pink or orange? I'm scared!!

I read on another website that putting a lightening kit on then my choice of blonde would work, anybody have any idea's as to whether it would??
