Brazilian Keratin Treatment Should Be Banned

I am 32 years old and a hairstylist for 13 years now. I have been doing the BKT (Brazilian Keratin Treatment) for a little less than 2 years. This past May I have become allergic to my perfume and super sensitive to perfume that other people are wearing. It gets so bad that I feel dizzy, extremely tired and feel like I will pass out. My tongue and hands also get numb.

The DR. gave me an epi pen in case of emergency. I am also sensitive to cleaning products now and my sense of smell is so heightened that smells make me sick but not all the time. I definitely believe its from my exposure to the treatments.

I wish the FDA would further study the health effects of the BKT and ban it from being done. I know I can choose not to do them but I am still exposed just by being in the salon. Am I crazy, should I be worried???

With corrupted keratin brands. I don't know but I've been using Max liss keratin lately at home and my hair looks better than ever. It barely contains 0,01 of formaldehyde.

Here's their page, in case you want more info: http://maxliss-keratin.com
