Can Brazilian Straightener Work on Blonde hair?

by Barbara cservak

It seems that these straighteners work best on dark hair because blonde hair gets dry and brittle. Is this true for the Brazilian Straightener? Will it dry out blonde hair that has been colored? Please let me know your response.

Yes, I'm a Blonde & my hair got very dry after treatment

I would like to find out why after the keratin treatment my hair feels so straw like. Even after a deep treatment I cannot run my fingers through my hair? Everyone at the salon said that the Brazilian straightener would help damaged hair not hurt it, so why do i feel I got lied to considering my hair feels completely ruined.

Hot Ironing cause dryness!

Yes blond hair that been colored blond or bleached blond and not been conditioned enough after color process to restore the lost moisture will get very dry or even damaged through this process. It's not because of the treatment formula itself, but because of hot ironing that part of this treatment.

Damaged hair after Brazilian
by: Anonymous

I had a Brazilian at a Hair Salon in Georgetown, Washington DC and it made my hair very dull, dry, frizzy, straw like and the curl is coming back. It's totally fried. My hair was in perfect condition before it was done and I have dark hair not bleached blonde. What do you think happened and how can I repair my hair? Or is it not repairable? I have tried to contact the salon to find out what to do but they have not responded.

I hate the brazilian!

BKT on hair

The keratin in the BKT is very heavy, and it weighs incredibly on your hair, regardless of color. They also do 8-10 passes with a very hot iron over each section. Not all hair types can afford the heat damage and added weight. If you hair is already even slightly damaged, stay away from the keratin treatments.
