Damaged hair - Too much color

I went to a salon to dye my hair from platinum blonde to something a little darker..the lady made my hair more darker then i wanted, and i didn't have enough money to fix it. So the next day i went to buy a box highlight dye from the store and dyed my hair. I lost some hair and it looks terrible. How do i make my hair healthy again?
