Fair skin tone with pink undertones - What kind of blond?

by Eva
(Singapore)

I really want to go blond. But i have no clue what kind of blond. I have fair skin tone (with pink undertones) and blue/gray eyes. My original color is a sort of mousy brown.
Please give me lots of suggestions!
I've also been wondering a lot about weather i would look good with platinum blond...

Hair colour

If you want to look at options that look good, try first colours that wash out. Because it is a drastic choice to colour your hair. So don't go on peer pressure or loved ones suggestions. It has to be your choice because its your hair. Semi-permanent will wash out after six seven washes or ten weeks.. Then if you like it you can go permanent.

However your hair looks fab anyway. What you don't want is severely damaged hair as a result. Go to a professional salon thats recommended and has a good reputation. Don't just dye, this could harm your hair, unless you want orange hair for ten weeks. Also ask the salon to recommend treatments that will protect your hair from tangles, clogging and thinning dry scalp and frizz...
Good luck and be sure to get the best result for you.

What kind of blonde

Good idea! You will look real good with blonde hair. My first suggestion would be strawberry blonde with blonde hi lites. Another color idea will be light golden hi lites. OR you could have just the front of the head blonde and the rest either strawberry blonde or golden blonde . This would be a very funky look. You can also have blonde all over hair with light red hi lites.

All these recommendations are very cool and you will look good with any of them, just make sure that you choose a real good professional colorist to do the best job because you will have to pre-bleach your hair first (remove the color that is their now) in order to change to any other color.

Sorry for the short and probably for the lack of constructive criticism in this but... if this on the picture is your natural hair colour then I'll say that it matches really well with the skin tone you have and it's simply beautiful.

Dont change to blonde

I would not go totally blonde ....It will be very hard to maintain and the regrowth will be a constant problem....Why not use what you already have and enhance it....I would play up those golden highlights that you already have in your beautiful hair by adding more golden highlights and this will be very easy to up keep. Just do the foil with your beautician....

Your hair color is gorgeous! Platinum blonde would become a miserable chore, not to mention the horrible damage it inevitably causes over time. I love your hair color just the way it is. Simply gorgeous!

OMG, your hair color is beautiful. ! Don't ruin it.
That's a very rare shade of brown. It matches your skin wonderfully.

Don't color!

I wouldn't change a thing about your hair! You are a beautiful woman! My hair is the same color, and I have the same complexion and eye color as you as well. I am now 41. Because I was told my hair was "mousy" and looked "washed out", I started coloring my hair in my mid-twenties. Yes, I colored it blonde. I did that for years. About 5 years ago, it ended up black (I was shooting for brown, actually). I went back and had caramel highlights put in to make it dark brown instead of black. This scared a lot of people, so I guess they thought it too radical a change. When that grew out, it looked red, then reddish-blonde, which I kind of liked.

Months later, a hairdresser recommended a flaming copper red. It took some getting used to, but then I got accused of looking like someone who really dislikes me, and this ended up being the worst year of my life. To get it back to its original color, I had it re-highlighted blonde. When that grew out, I discovered, hey! I LIKE this. I like my ORIGINAL color. I like ME this way. Somebody lied to me, and I believed them all these years.

So, I have been light brown now for over two years and love it. This is me. The hard part will be finding my color so it can cover up the gray that's coming in in my temples! My 12 year-old daughter has the same coloring as me and you. I have told her, and will tell you, there is NOTHING wrong with you or your hair color.

You are beautiful, girl! Say it in the mirror to yourself if you have to! I like your hair STYLE, too. Actually, that's what I want my hair to look like in a few months. TOTALLY GORGEOUS, and the men LOVE it cause we don't look fake!

Start with subtle changes

You have beautiful coloring both hair and skin that will naturally compliment each other. I have the exact same skin and similar natural hair color. I think you would look great as a blonde. My suggestion is to add either golden or maybe even ash blond (no that doesn't mean grey) hi-lights. Even start with partial hi-lights to adjust to the change. Any natural blonde has many different colors of blonde in their hair, so an all over blonde would probably wash you out (which can be easy to do with fair skin) and not look very natural.
If you are wanting to experiment with another color, some variation of red would probably look stunning, but it is a very high maintenance hair color and would be a drastic change on your part. That might be too much when beginning to color your hair.
Good luck with whatever you decide!
