Fine Hair - Dry with lot of split ends

by Debbie

I have really fine hair its quiet long, lately its seem really dry and a lot of split ends. I have got lots of treatments and left them in over night every night for two weeks ans its just feels and looks terrible.

Can you recommend a treatment for my hair.
I do have my hair trimmed every 6 x weeks.
Can you please advise me?

Thank you
Debbie.

RE: Fine Hair - Dry with lot of split ends

Hello! - As for the dry with a lot of split ends, I am sad to say this, but having long dry fine hair myself, the only way I truly find my fine hair at it's most beautiful and healthiest is when I wear it just below shoulder length or shorter - shoulder to chin length just seems to be the most suitable for fine hair.

Sure you can add oils and serums and products or conditioners, but you will never be able to enjoy the softness and beauty of fine hair unless you wack off all those split ends and dead looking hair. If you can't bare to cut it shorter, I'd suggest to at least get a good trim; this should make your hair appear and feel much better.

I've got the exact same thing and it's easy to see what's caused it. I have non-adjustable temperature straighteners, so my hair gets exposed to 230oC at least twice a week. Look for good quality heat protection products, and shampoos and conditioners that are especially formulated for fine dry hair.

Also, I find that leaving something in overnight doesn't do the job, so instead, when you wash your hair, add plentiful amounts of intensive conditioner or hair masque (I find colour free henna wax perfect), wrap in a warm towel and leave for about fifteen minutes.

Hot oils are another option. The heat actually helps the oil penetrate the hair shaft and keep hair moisturised and soft after styling. Hope I helped!
