Formaldehyde and Coppola Keratin Complex

I went for the Coppola keratin complex treatment as opposed to other smoothening systems due to the apparent lack of formaldehyde. Now I have worked with formaldehyde for 8 years as a lab technician and I KNOW the smell of it. As soon as that stuff was applied to my hair I could smell it and my eyes were burning. Now 10 hours later with my hair dry I can still feels my eyes slightly irritated.
Formaldehyde or other-aldehyde the effects are the same. Irritating fumes that keep giving off. I made a comment to the hairdresser that it smelt like formaldehyde and she responded is a high voice "Oh no this product does not have any formaldehyde in it. That's why we use it." Ah well ignorance can be a b***h and she will have to work that one out. Although she did comment that the smell irritated her but that she "was getting used to it" well maybe her nasal passageways are being irritated to destruction.
Formaldehyde is carcinogenic. I am miffed as even though my hair feels great I probably wont have this done ever again...too risky and I totally don't trust marketing and big business. There may even be a loophole to allow them to say that there is no formaldehyde even if there might be a tiny bit, enough to detect the smell and irritation is enough to cause damage.
For the person who says formaldehyde is in everything (read between the lines 'get over it' if you wanna look sharp) maybe that's why cancer rates are so high! No more salon visits for me...
