I would love to go blonde just once in my life, and, as I'm off to uni next year, I want to decide beforehand and get my hair done accordingly. At the moment, I go for all shades of dark brown... and up to a light chocolate brown. But would I'd love to know if I could go for a blonde? Or whether it wouldn't suit me. I know there are MANY variations of blonde, so any will do.

I think that you will make a real good blonde. Things to consider: Because your hair has been colored with the brown color, you must be very careful about striping the old color out to make it blonde. I recommend that you choose a real good colorist to do this process. You can do it in steps and go lighter and lighter slowly or you can do lots of highlights with foils. This procedure will be easier on your hair rather than striping the color out since you could end up having some breakage. But yes you will look good with any shade of blonde, including golden and even strawberry blonde. GO FOR IT!
You would make a PERFECT blonde. No doubt. Being a blonde has its downs though. Im blonde, and it costs a lot. Yes, men prefer blonde over anything else, yes it's a very popular color in LA, but thats not the point. When being blonde, You need expensive hair products to keep it from graying, and frizzing.
