My hair is also shoulder length (right above my bust, and below my shoulder)and its quite layered. I got a bad hair cut and iv been growing it for a few months but Iv basically wore it up everyday and I'm tierd of it so I'm getting extensions. My question is because you described your hair kinda the same as mine, would 18" be too long and just look fake and like a mullet. I planned on getting my ends thinned to blend, But I'm between 18" and 14"

And it suits your face very well. I am sure that you will also look gorgeous with short hair. You can also carry any style that break the symmetry (asymmetrical haircuts).
