Going Blonde From Brunette - Patchy Results

by Melissa

I want to go to a nice ash blonde hair colour. I was a brunette then put a blonde hair dye on it and it went orange and very patchy and so I went over it again and it got brighter and then I went back to brunette and stayed patchy.

I waited a month to give it time to calm down and went to a salon where they put an ash blonde colour on it but it hardly lifted.

My hair is dry and brittle at the ends and still patchy. I really want to go blonde but I don't know what to do.

Everytime I got to a hairdressers and ask for advice they say nothing can be done because my hair wont take colour. What should I do? Can I get it stripped?

You really are not going to be able to do this unless you go to a salon and they strip your color out but by doing this hair will become extremely fragile, brittle and possibly break off.

so I would not recommend going blonde depending from the depth of your color say if your brunette is dark brown you can only lift it 2 levels that would from dark brown to medium or light brown.

Also depending on your skin tone you could try a medium or light golden brown. But at this point find a good salon they should be able to correct it. But please do not try blonde, it will be very bad at this point. If you can tolerate a wait time give your hair a chance to grow out for a few months it should fade up and condition it very well to prevent further damage.
