Charles WilkinsGoing back a few years ago, design by Chas came into formulation because of a highly published news magazine article where the actress Selma Hayek in order to complete a certain look had a brooch sewed to her hair.

This highly published article intrigued Chas, and created a curiosity concerning why would someone do such a thing? Were there not adequate hair style accessories available to one so wealthy, that a heavy brooch and a sewing kit became so necessary for her to complete her look and feel for style that evening? Well that's exactly what some research had unfolded.

Jewelry stores, boutiques, mall shoppes had nothing to offer, precious gem adornments did not exist. Now taking this a step further the actual clip presented the biggest issue with Jeweler's, along with the gem ct.w to be tied up and not have it classified as a "brooch".

Since, Chas collected gems as a hobby, the rest followed. A re-incorporation of the well known dependable S/S French clip 14k gold along with precious gems allowed for a product to be designed that could be available to satisfy this existing market void.
