How to get black hair color out?

I have brown hair naturally but I dyed it black. Now I want my old hair color back. I have very long nice hair and I would rather just keep dying it black than mess it up trying to go lighter.
Can anyone help me?

Bleach your hair

You have to bleach your hair to get the black out... it wont be pretty when thats done. But then color your hair the brown color you want and if you get it close to your natural color when it grows out the roots wont be a different color.

Bleaching your hair once wont damage it. Just make sure if you use any flat irons or curlers that you first spray your hair with heat protectant! Good luck

My suggestion is that if you don't know what you're doing... go to a professional and have them bleach and color it. Then buy some treatment for your hair to keep it healthy.

I'm in the same position. The best thing you can do is get a color correctional done. I wouldn't suggest you do it yourself, though. I thought I could do it to my hair with an at home kit, and I ended up wasting a lot of money. My hair went from black to a red color and that was after using 5 applications of the at home hair correctional kit. The ingredients in the solution made my hair smell like a sewer, also... for weeks.

I also advise that if you do decide to go with a home kit/ do-it-ourself color correctional, to not dye your hair after using it. I thought i could cover up the red it had left in my hair and i purchased some light brown dye to do myself and my hair turned back black. So, to save you from a big mess and from wasting a lot of money, my best advice would be to find a professional to fix your hair color. You may think that'll cost quite a bit, but I swear you wont regret it, because in the end, you might find it to be cheaper than doing it yourself to wind up with bad hair. Good luck!
