Keratin Hair Treatment - I Feel Duped

My stylist, who I've been going to for years, raved about this product. She told me it would make my hair healthy and strong. I didn't even know it was supposed to be a straightener, because I'd never heard of it before and she described it as a deep conditioner.

My hair is short and fine, but I get it colored every 3 weeks, so it's a bit dried out. I had the treatment done 1 week ago, but already my hair looks worse, not better than before. It has less, not more body, and is quite fly away. I have to admit, it looked better for about 4 days. I have a feeling this might be because I didn't use the special, very expensive Keratin shampoo and conditioner.

Thank goodness I haven't had any hair loss YET! But from the sound of it, I very well may. I would never have chosen this product if I knew it was a straightener. Also, I have to wash my hair every 2 days, and every 4 days I have to wash it with Dandruff Shampoo, because I have a mild case of psoriasis, and this is how I keep it under control.

I never would have been able to use only the Keratin product, which the stylist didn't tell me I would have to use until after she gave me the treatment. So pissed! I only hope it doesn't get any worse!

My hair is fine but I relax because it was easier. I went to a Dominican salon and she recommended the "Organic Keratin", but she did say I have to wait five or six months. I liked the idea of stepping away from the relaxer. Right now, I am getting the roots blow dried once a week after the roller set. You cant tell the difference between the relaxer and the new growth. After all that I have read on multiple blogs, the negative experiences heavily outweigh the positive. I won't relax go back to the relaxer, but I am staying FAR AWAY from the keratin. I will stick with my deep conditioning and roller set followed by the blow dry once a week. Thank you again!!!!
