Keratin Hair Treatment Success

I have been struggling with coarse, unruly hair my entire life. No amount of product or straightening device would do the trick, especially once the humidity rose.
In December 2006, I had my hair straightened using the Japanese system. It made my hair stick-straight, bleached the color out, and took months to get a little bit of "lift" back.
In June 2007, I had my first Brazilian hair treatment, and absolutely loved it! I had my hair colored, highlighted, straightened and cut -- all on the same day.
In October I got a frantic phone call from my mother -- "You Must Read Allure magazine this month!". I did, and was not overly concerned. I did not experience the fumes nor the difficulty breathing talked about in the article. The report did not scare me to death, as it was obviously intended to.
When I went back to the salon, just yesterday, I had the formaldehyde-free Keratin Complex treatment. This made Mom happy, but, if the results are not as long-lasting as the Brazilian, I will definitely go back to formaldehyde.
For your info
by: AnonymousI too had the Keratin treatment and loved it but when I heard about the Formaldehyde I decided to do a little research.
I was told I should do the Keratin Complex b/c it doesn't contain Formaldehyde and I would have the same results. Well, after spending a good amount of money it didn't!! It only lasted about 3 weeks verses the 3 1/2 months with the Marcia one. I was very upset and after complaining to the salon they advised me that they no longer carried that product b/c they found out that the Keratin Complex DOES have Formaldehyde. I guess the company just uses another name for Formaldehyde and it actually contains more then the Marcia one. The salon re-did my hair but ended up going back to the original product I had done.
Beware, as it seems that many companies are now trying to pass one up us!
