Keratin Treatment - Attitude For Hair

by John
(Cincinnati)

Well I as an owner of a Day Spa " A New Attitude Beauty Studio in Cincinnati Ohio". My staff has been looking into this process for 4 years. We have used just about everyone out there. Due respect they sucked. 4 day's of dirty hair, dull coated feeling hair. Then a return to the salon on the 4 day.( Some of us just don't have the time).

As a salon owner. That means I have to book my staff out for hours without pay to them or the salon. How come they all cost 300 to 700 for 16ozs. With this product it's only 199 10-14 treatments up to 4500 return to the salon.
Makes perfect sense to me. Then a salon could pass the saving on to their clients.

Again, I'm so sorry you ladies have had a bad experience. I do know that stupid hairdressers are the problem. Not the product. ( ATTITUDE FOR HAIR.com) this is what my salon uses. We NEVER get it on the scalp or the skin. When it is applied the right way. Our product has saved a lot of blow-drying for our clients. Brazilian Keratin Straightener is the new product of the century.

Please, Please check your stylist. I almost promise it is them not the product. If you want this done. I suggest you go in for a patch test ( like any new product). If you have a GREAT stylist they will tell you to do this first. Like any other thing out there. Everyone react different to all kinds of things. Also, where is the science to back up all these doctors. If there is any. Realize they make mistakes too. I have clients that react to color as well as perms. That way a patch test should ALWAYS be done. Good luck and sorry for the ladies that have had a bad experience with their service. GET A NEW STYLIST and SALON.

...
I can almost promise you. You went to an undereducated, selfish. Money hungry stylist.
First, of the product should NEVER touch any part of your skin. The hairdresser should have made sure of that with the application. Your hair shouldn't even have taken the product to start off with. It is a shame that some of the people on here had a bad experience.

I Blame it again on an money hungry, stupid, stylist who should have their licenses pulled. Never the less, Attitude for hair.com has never had one complaint. We do the service the way is should be done. With lots of vents windows open. Also, look at the hair and make sure it can take the heat. If it was applied right.

I can almost assure you will love the results. As far as flat. Again the stylist. The hair should have been lifted up at 95 degree angle for volume. Then you should have had a patch test. If there was any problem with a reaction. No WAY SHOULD the stylist move forward.

It is with any chemical service in our business.
I highly suggest you find a new salon with smarts and honesty. I refuse to do this service. If we feel a client can't have it. I rather have my clients saying great things about me. Instead of negative. I am so sorry you lady's had a bad experience. It is not fair to those stylist that are honest and up front about the side effects.
That is way, the staff at A NEW ATTITUDE BEAUTY STUDIO in Cincinnati Ohio. We will be glad to consult any one out there. Try to educate stylist.
Brazilian Keratin Straightener is a GREAT thing for the right client ( not for all clients just like perms colors, or any other chemical service you receive in a salon.

Please stop judging us honest to God hairdressers. It really is unfair. Just like your jobs. There are stupid, lazy, workers. Please call any time. We will try to help you. If we can.
GOOD LUCK.

P.S. why do so many of our clients keep coming back for it. If it is so bad for you and your hair. Again, I HATE stupid money hungry stylist

John I understand your situation. You have a product and you are proud of it and its hard to see someone blaming Brazilian Keratin for all these complains.

Too many variables for a simple stylist to handle:
Don't let the product touch the scalp
Don't over process - Hair breakage
Do the patch test - Allergic reaction
Make sure client not having Respiratory issues such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and etc...

Looks like slightest mistake and the client is doomed - one way or another - Sound like a dangerous procedure!!

What about carcinogenic fumes from aldehyde family that comes from these products?

These days anyone can hire a lab and a cheap chemist and create a new product and make a filling. These chemists are not specialists in medical field. Most of them are industrial experts. There are no other experts to research the impact of these products on human body. No regulators. No nothing!!

Tell me - where is the science behind Brazilian Keratin?

If there are many mistakes by stylists then stylists are not qualified to handle such dangerous product in beauty salons. And certifications by these companies means nothing!!

I agree with you. Still salons have been using chemicals for years.Perms and bleach have dangers too. The educated stylist make a great stylist. As far a reactions. Do you know what I am allergic too? Unless I know what i am allergic too.As I get older things do change in our bodies. I can't do or use things. I did when I was much younger. (and you)
That's like me knowing that question about you. Clients also hold some responsibility. All I'm saying is communication is the key to any service.
I have had many doctors say one thing was wrong with me. When they were wrong too.I still stand by my education and honesty. That is why I have a wonderful clientele. Who adores me. good luck in your faith in people. You sound very negative anyway. I'm sure you are lonely and have had trust issues

Sorry John

John you are really missing the point here. Formaldehyde in levels above 0.2% is AGAINST FDA REGULATIONS. Not only is it clear that these Keratin products contain higher levels than is legally allowed, they are trying to hide the formaldehyde content and even have the audacity to market the products as 'all natural'!! Well, sulfuric acid is natural, but I wouldn't use it on my skin or that of a client!
I feel your enthusiasm is preventing you from doing the research that any self-respecting stylist should do, especially as you seem to be an advocate for Keratin straighteners. The science is all that really matters.
In the UK if you study for a hairdressing diploma, you get a lot of science. Any hairdresser who's studied knows this; there are only two ways to alter the structure of hair. One way is with heat, the other is chemically. Heat-styling dissipates when water is added (frizzy hair in humidity) if the hair retains it's straightness after being wet THIS IS CLEAR EVIDENCE OF CHEMICAL STRAIGHTENING.

A natural straightener is like the Philosopher's Stone. I think this explains the high cost price: it makes the miracle more believable. But when something seems to good to be true, it usually is. If you decide to continue using these products, cover yourself by making your clients aware of the risks, and taking the necessary precautions.

Salon in Destin

John, I had my hair straightened with Attitude last summer. I'm ready to have it re-done but cannot locate a salon in the new area I have moved to. Do you know of any salons that use Attitude in Destin, San Destin, Rosemary Beach, Panama City Beach, Niceville, Ft. Walton Beach areas?? Thanks

Horrible product! (not stylist error)
by: Anonymous

This product is horrible!Do not use it! You can try to blame it on the stylist; but I had the product applied by you, John, the "expert" and had a disastrous result. Quit making excuses and admit it is a bad product, plain and simple!
