Egidio Borri is literally making waves in the hair industry through his association with Jesse Briggs, founder of Yellow Strawberry Salons. Although separated by the Atlantic Ocean, these master stylists are working together to bring back a soft, super-feminine, curly hair style with the help of Jesse's creation, the S Wave Thermal Set.

Borri is artistic director and owner of several Yellow Strawberry Global Salons in Italy. His work has been featured in major European style magazines such as La Griffe, On Hair, YOU and others.

Short Hair Style interviewed Egidio Borri about his new hair styles in particular his collection of wavy hair styles, and about his partnership with Jesse Briggs.

SHS Interview:

Long Wavy hair style By Egidio Borri SHS: What excites you most about your work as a hair stylist?

Egidio Borri: The thing that excites me about this job is the satisfaction I receive from my clients and the people I work with when I am able to express my feelings for and appreciation for the profession.

SHS: Do you still participate in the Wella Trend Vision international hair competition?

Egidio Borri: Yes, every business concerned with beauty needs some professionally recognized credentials, and I stay involved with Wella Trend Vision because I am in tune with the times – with fashionable tastes – and have a spontaneous appreciation for what is desired.

Volumizing hair style By Egidio SHS: What inspired you to go into wavy hair styles?

Egidio Borri: This is a time when women and the market are rediscovering softness, waves, and fullness.
I have been in tune with this trend for some time because, after a period in which women to some extent forgot their femininity with sleek styles and geometric cuts, I felt the need to visualize women as more feminine, more sexy, and more elegant by enhancing their female attributes.

So here we are again, on the way to giving women a new image by restoring softness and volume to hair, to make the most of her new personality.

Egidio inside La Griffe Magazine SHS: Do you have a name for your collection of new hair styles?

Egidio Borri: The name I felt was most suitable can be summed up in a few significant words: Heritage Allure Fashion. And to achieve this concept, I needed an innovative, vibrant, yet simple product. The S Wave Thermal Set™ was the answer, combining elegance and softness with a thoroughly modern simplicity and speed (of application).

Artistic Wavy hair style By Egidio SHS: What do you think about the S Wave Thermal Set?

Egidio Borri: I believe the S Wave is the answer the professional salon market was looking for. It's not a perm but a volumizing treatment that creates softness, movement, and easy hair care. It's everything that women and the hair fashion world want right now.

An expert on hair must always be in tune with trends and fashions, and therefore be ready to change. With the S Wave Thermal Set™, a new age has begun.

Egidio Borri SHS: Tell us about your work with Jesse Briggs at Yellow Strawberry Salons.

Egidio Borri: I met Jesse in Milan, Italy, at a photographer's studio and there was an immediate rapport. He watched me working and paid me compliments on my work. Then he invited me to America as his guest to carry out a photographic assignment at South Beach, Florida. That was the beginning of my American dream! We have been working together for 11 years.

Jesse is a great person with professional gifts and immeasurable life values. He has given me the opportunity to play a leading role in some of the world's most important international hair shows, with great success. We have also done many photo assignments and had the satisfaction of seeing our work featured on the covers of magazines all over the world.

Egidio Borri and Jesse Briggs I think our partnership has the right balance of artistic creativity, taste, and intuition.

We combine the energy and enthusiasm of an Italian (me) with the marketing ability, tenacity, experience and notoriety of an American (Jesse). We are like brothers.

SHS: What are your thoughts on Jesse's latest project, the Style Stars Global Hair Contest?

Egidio Borri: I am totally fascinated by this contest. It is the first time ever that hairdressers have had the chance to dream big and to put forward their work, exchanging ideas and ways to solve problems with colleagues from all over the world. And this contest presents a unique occasion to gain professional experience working with international stylists.

It is a global event that will create immense professional, artistic, spiritual, and personal growth for the participants.

SHS: Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

Egidio Borri: I think I have the best job in the world because it's like working in this garden whose flowers are hair... and that makes me feel like everyone's favorite gardener! I think each season has flowers that do not bloom eternally – but if you have a good gardener, your garden can flourish all year round.
