Nosebleeds - Brazilian Keratin Straighteners

EVERY time I do either Marcia Textera (from Brazil) or Coppola straighteners, I experience within a day or two heavy nosebleeds with alot of blood clots coming up in my throat. I tried wearing a mask....during the application and drying time and if I left the mask on during the flat iron time, my nose did not bleed. I did a Marcia Textera on Thurs 3/12/2009 I did not wear a mask during the flat iron part and sure as can be I experienced a moderate nosebleed with clotting this morning.

I am a licensed hairdresser and without fail each time I do these my nose bleeds...I personally have decided to stop doing these as I am concerned about my health. I had to cancel an appointment that I had for Wed. Mar 18,2009 as I feel my life is worth more then the ticket price I receive for doing these.

You should be wearing your mask at all time, when is heat applied to the product because that is where the danger lyes when drying the product into the hair use a warm not hot dryer set on a med to low air flow setting make sure if you don't have ventilation keep fresh air by keeping doors open you are inhaling to much of the product and you will have serious health problems or maybe don't do this treatment any more.

I've been doing both of these treatments with no side effects at all. But im very cautious of the steps and I don't stand right on top of the guest when doing the treatment to avoid breathing in the fumes be smart educate yourself.
