Hair extension for thick hair

Antonia, Your hair length and texture is probably the best candidate for wearing an extension. You only need to consider two things:

First - When purchasing your hair extension, make sure you choose human hair extension with thickness, type and texture close to your own. Indian and Chinese hair is thick and straight while those from Brazil are not only thick but also coarse. There are also extensions from Russia and Ukraine that are more suitable for Caucasian hair types. If you not sure about your hair texture, consult it with your hairdresser - I am sure they be happy to assist.

Synthetic hair extensions are much cheaper but might not be suitable (compatible) for thick hair like yours, they shed more rapidly and can?t be styled with hot tools like human hair.

Second - If you have thick and dense hair then you probably need a haircut appointment. In order for your hair extension to look naturally, your stylist must remove some of your hair either by layering and/or texturizing (ex. thinning the hair with texturizing scissors). The purpose is not to remove any length, but to remove excess bulk and allow your new extension to fit and blend naturally with your own hair. In other words; you need to remove some hair before you add some new!

First try to consult hair salons that carry human clip-in extensions. It might save you trouble.

Best Wishes
