Silver Gray Hair That Pops Back - What To Do?

My hair is dark brown, it looks almost black. I am Black American, but my hair is naturally straight, sometimes curly or frizzy. What I would like to know is I have a lot of gray hair around my edges. I have seen people who have the front styled with gray hair and then the rest is brown. How would I do something like that?

Every time I color my hair the gray pops back in a few days later. My gray is very silver looking so it stands out. I thought maybe if I kept it in the front and somehow colored the rest that would be better. What does one do about the gray?

I look much younger when my hair is colored but I just don't know what to do now. Please help with any ideas you may have.
