The TRUTH About Formaldehyde

UNDERSTANDING:

1- The formaldehyde is found in aprox. 0.02 percent of an ounce in drinking water, high in rain water, in our textiles, in some raw meat, use as a food preservative, cleaning cosmetics, nail products and high concentration in cigarettes.

2- BASE ON THE ALLURE MAGAZINE ARTICLE: That in the US market once a product seems to be to good to be true, the media will always try to find the way to get their "piece of the pie" or "their share".

"REGARDING THE REPORTER (I WONT NAME) WHO TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE NEWS TO MAKE MONEY BY PRODUCING THIS ARTICLE" This person has nothing to do with the salon beauty industry. Just a reporter looking for a good story to make some money out of something that is getting so popular.

3- SEVERAL CASES AGAINST OTHER PRODUCTS IN THE PAST LIKE THIS COSMETIC CASE: 30 years ago the media did try to destroy the "Acrylic Nails Service" and almost got it out of the market.. today 3 out of 4 salons still are offering this service and making great profit. They claimed that lot of people were going to suffer of cancer and die because of the fumes produced in the process of the application of acrylic nails.

I will also mention that "Acrylic Nails" are 30 times worst than the fumes produced when sealing the Brazilian hair treatment on the hair.

The true fact is that "The Brazilian keratin hair treatment" has a very small portion of formaldehyde and when performing this treatment we are only applying this to the hair in a small portion. If we were going to serve this in salons like "coffee" for clients to drink... then we should be concerned. But as many products in salons and spa used in our skin, hair or nails, we need to understand that everything will have an ingredients or formulas mixed with hundred of different chemicals. It is impossible not to escape from chemicals in our everyday living...

Are all same?

Is it possible that there are different products from different manufactures but with same name? One can use poison and other use less chemical? I don't know, but seems like the same name is used by different companies!! It's not right to Judge all with one story.

Sounds like you gave up hope for better living standard! I agree with some of your points. Media always exaggerating the stories for maximum impact, but we can't ignore the bitter truth in that story.

Yes we expose ourselves to chemicals everyday, but should use that as an excuse to further exposure? That's the wrong philosophy!!

Here are more truth about formaldehyde:

EPA has classified formaldehyde as a Probable Human Carcinogen meaning that it causes cancer in animals and likely humans.

A great percentage of people are hypersensitive to the irritant effects of formaldehyde even at lowest of levels.
