What Colour Would Warm Up My Skin Tone?

by Lianne

Could I ask your advice please? I've had highlighted hair for over 3 years now and I am thinking of having a change.

Due to the regular bleaching my hair has become quite thin and damaged so I'm hoping to give it a boost in condition and look. To do this I'm thinking that I need to go brown, but when I look at photos of me with my natural brown colour I look really pale and washed out.

What colour of brown do you think would warm my skin tone and suit my eyes? I didn't know what photo to use as I think my skin tone seems to change in each so I used them all, lol. The third photo is of me with a bit of a tan, its as tanned as I get. Any advise would be gratefully received. Many thanks in advance.

You are correct. The blonde washes you out. your professional stylist should be able to help you choose, but I would keep you at a level 6 low lighting with 6 golden brown, 5 gold beige, and 6 neutral brown and about a level 8 dark golden blonde highlights.

Thank you for your help. Do u know where I could find pics of what u suggest plz?

Thanks for your help. I think I know what you are suggesting. Do you know where I could find pictures of what your suggesting though please? I've drawn an image in my mind by googling the colours and putting them together, but I may have the balance of each completely wrong, lol. Would you put the level 10 all through or would you just put it through the top section?

While writing, could I also ask what level do you think my hair is now and if I'm a warm or cool skin tone please? Many thanks again for all your help.

Sorry. It's level 8 blonde not 10 :)

What color to warm skin tone
by: felicia

I, agree with the previous writer I, use light golden brown in L'Oreal excellence cream #6.
Usually if you go to the store like shopko they have samples of the hair swatches which do come off the shelf so you can hold it up to your face.

Also if you want to be blonde L'Oreal also makes a product called L'Oreal preference they have a beautiful shade #8 called golden blonde. I have used both of these with excellent results. You can ask tour stylist as well if you would rather do the salon thing or call L'Oreal direct line usually one the boxes of hair color. Good luck!

Cool Complexion
by: Jade

From your photos I would say you have cooler complextion with blue/olive undertone (winter type) and should not go with golden tones alone even with your tan. In general overall blond colors is not for you. Should you desire blond then as stated in previous comments, you need to go with multi-coloring (highlights) option. Choose neutral brown as base and add multi coloring highlight to enhance your look. Do not use blond as your base color.
