Help my hair is severly matted together, right in the back of my head.

I've had hair extensions for over two years now, well the girl who does them, she did them, and all of a sudden I am left with matted hair, and cannot comb through this mess at all.Right in the back of my head too. I have tried everything possible also, I do not have any self esteem left in my body at all now. I will not leave my house, and of all, she does not even care about this mess I am left with now. I do not know where to turn at all. Help me please someone, my hair does not grow, due to a disease I have, and I am not wearing any wig, plus I am a broke disabled person too.

Hair extensions
by: Anonymous

Get yourself a tangle tweezer hair brush, please have your extensions removed and gently love your hair again, it will be thin and totally out of condition, but will gently grow and thicken again, mine has taken 6 months to look in good condition again, if you need the length try a half head wig, or a weave which isn't so invasive to your hair. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your hair needs a rest to repair. Good luck x

Matted hair
by: Mandy

I am in the same situation. I have had hair loss because my hair felt like it was starting to grow in different directions on my scalp but I didn't know how to explain it to anyone. Now I've let it grow back but under the first layer it is matted to my scalp being pulled in all different directions. How did you get it all brushed out? I can't get a brush from my scalp out to the ends without pulling out hairs and tears rolling down my eyes and a painful scalp. I have tons of sores on my scalp as well. Please someone message me if they can relate or help. I am completely alone in this.

Can be done
by: Jesse Briggs

Hi Joyce, Yes it can be combed out BUT by someone else behind chair. It's done slowly with water, Conditioner & patience combined with some cutting / trimming of the areas starting at the nape by a Professional Hairdresser. However if you cannot afford several hours of work to untangle then just cut the under matted and let the top layers fall over that area until it grows out. I will take your call and explain over the phone for SHS to you or Stylist. These are the only ways to go. I have many years of experience.
