My hairstyle was created by using curling tongs, gently running my hands through and shaking, then a generous amount of hairspray.

I like the choice of the use of the word generous for the application of spray... Most of the time when clients are not happy with a look that they try to recreate at home the culprit it their too stingy use of hair products. In most cases, except with oil based products like styling pastes and silicones... the more the merrier! Lets be GENEROUS with these things.
