by Meena

I get small reddish boils on scalp and they pain in the beginning. After few days they start drying and get cured. The skin of that area remains tender for few days. Have tried allopathic and homeopathic medicines but no permanent cure. Can you help ?
I am 61 and use branded good quality hair dye. Have tried changing the brand of dye also but no relief.

Possible bacterial Infection
by: N.F.

If boils appear around hair then it could be scalp folliculitis caused by bacterial infection. There are several other bacterial infections of upper part of hair follicle that have similar symptoms as you described.

You mention homeopathic remedies; Did you you try Emu Oil? Emu oil has great anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that can deal with number of minor scalp problems including fungal and bacterial infections, sores, itchiness and it's a natural moisturizer for dry scalp (contains Omega 3, 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids). Try pure Emu Oil. After each wash, dry the hair as normal and apply just a little of Emu Oil on scalp and gently massage. Do not wash! - Just remember to buy a good quality. Check American Emu Association for more guideline.

If continue, it might be a good idea to consult your medical doctor as well.
