Scalp problem with yellow flakes

My daughter works at a factory where oil readily floats in the air. Tonight I noticed throughout her entire scalp there are yellow flakes everywhere she just shampooed Sat. morning before work so her hair looks clean except the large amount of yellow flaking she said there is no itch or pain involved. What could it be??

Excess Oil

The problem could be nothing but simple product build-up on scalp by excess oil from working environment. The fact that there are no pains and its not itching proof that!

But it can develop to a more serious problem like oily dandruff or similar scalp problems if not treated properly. There are a series of fungus family (ex. Pityrosporum (Malassezia) ovale) that naturally lives on the scalp and they feed on lipids, oils and natural sebum produced by body. Some scientists beleive that dandruff and other scalp problems are caused by growth of such microorganisms on scalp surface.

I suggest your daughter to use a deep cleansing shampoo with tea tree oil. Massage well using fingers. This helps to remove any impurities and oil from scalp.
