Damaged Hair - Bad Perm On Natural Curly Hair

by Michele

I am a Apostolic woman with natural curly hair. How ever my hair was getting so long that the weight of it was pulling my hair straight in some places. After a while it really started to bug me. I am also a cosmetologist and know first hand the damage a perm can do. After awhile of debating I decided that instead of cutting my hair or putting long layers in it to spring the curl back into it, I would have it permed.

I talked to the stylist about having it spot permed. I thought that would be the best option. However she did not. Long story short I let her perm my entire head. Mind you this was to avoid cutting it. Well she fried it! In my opinion, she didn't roll it right. Anyway it was down to my butt now its just below my shoulders and still fried. Its been almost 4 days now and im still mourning over it.

Ladies when it comes to perms, my advice is be happy with what GOD has given you and you wont regret it later. If you get a perm, 100% of the time you will have some degree of damage and its usually a lot worse than better. Also you should take hair vitamins twice a day to strengthen your hair and help it grow faster.

Give yourself scalp massages to improve scalp circulation which also helps hair grow. And last, which should be first PRAY to JESUS about it, leave it there, learn from it and move on. Easier said than done, I know. GOD BLESS!!!!
